Sara Partridge, Jazz

Saturday, July 6, 2019

The Carolina Music Museum brings you Sarah Partridge, a jazz singer of national reputation whose latest album, Bright Lights & Promises: Redefining Janis Ian landed on 3 "Best jazz albums of 2017" lists. Partridge’s compositions have been described as "modern classics". She has worked alongside legends Doc Cheatham, Bucky Pizzarelli, Frank Wess, saxophonist Harry Allen, & drummer Richard De Rosa. Dan Bilawsky, in All About Jazz wrote of her performance on the Janis Ian album, “...Partridge hits a bull’s-eye on every single song. She can scat, strut, soar, & tear your heart & soul to shreds without ever breaking a sweat. She’s that good, these performances are that memorable, & this album is most certainly one for the ages.” There’ll be selections from this album & her other six studio albums. With her Atlanta band, this is concert you won’t want to miss.
