Submitting An Event to the Community Calendar


All submissions will be reviewed before posting to the city's Community Calendar. The city has the discretion to determine which public events will be included in the calendar. The events should provide entertainment, food or other attractions to a diverse population, and promote the economic benefits of tourism or enhance the quality of life of the community. All events must be open to the general public (for free or cost), located within the City of Greenville and organized for non-profit purposes.

Beginning Tuesday, September 5, Rhett Street, from River Street to O'Neal Street, will be closed to thru traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. This daytime closure is expected to last for approximately seven weeks. Detour routes will be posted. Access to properties within the closure will be maintained. The closure is part of the Rhett Street Sewer and Stormwater Improvement Project. which includes upgrading the sanitary sewer lines from N. Markley Street to River Street and upgrading the stormwater system from N. Markley Street to Ferguson Street. Stormwater improvements will also continue down Ferguson Street to Logan Street and Crook Street at the Merrill Gardens development.
