Communications
The Communications Division is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the City of Greenville. The Communications Division answers all calls for police, fire, and medical emergencies in the City of Greenville. In 2019, the Center answered approximately 250,000 telephone calls and dispatched approximately 102,000 calls for service.
Communications follows the standards and guidelines of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO). Communications personnel are trained to provide the best service to our community and ready to respond in an emergency. In 2019, personnel completed over 11,000 hours of training to maintain operational effectiveness.
